Specific Request for Prayer
September 15th, 2021 News 2 Comments

Much has been happening over the last couple of months that we are looking forward to updating you on in the next prayer letter. However, before then, we have a specific request for tomorrow (Thursday, September 16) about which we are asking you all to pray with us.

Tomorrow at 10am Newfoundland Time (8:30 Eastern), both Katie and I will be taking a language proficiency exam, which is one of the requirements in order to apply for permanent residency. It is a 3 to 3.5 hour test involving reading, writing, listening, and speaking sections. Although it may seem strange that we, as native English speakers, need to take such a test, it is a universal requirement for immigration in Canada, and a good score can go a long way to helping us qualify for permanent residency.

We are asking if you would please commit to praying for us specifically between the times of 8:30 and 12noon Eastern time? Please pray that God would calm our hearts and nerves, that He would give us clear understanding of the instructions and expectations, and that He would guide us in our responses to the questions.

We have already seen God answer prayer with this opportunity. Many of the testing sites have been closed ever since the pandemic began last year, so just being able to take the test is a huge praise. Also, we thought that we would have to travel to the capital city of St. Johns (9-10 hours away) in order to take it, but just this past January, a certified testing center opened up in Corner Brook and we were able to reserve a spot there!

Thank you for your prayers on our behalf and for faithfully upholding us before the throne of grace. We look forward to updating you about it once we receive our scores!

Praying for our missionaries as always especially with this Covid virus. It’s been a challenge but our God is in control and he’s in charge. As believers we should believe in that and eventually God will take care of us all. But you can pray for Rich as you know he’s on a journey of getting a kidney but the last six months have been more of a journey than waiting for this kidney, I should say my kidney to give to him. He started having shortness of breath last October and one piece of furniture fell on him as he was putting it together so he was laid up for about three months. Wow the shortness of breath started badly, and he been back-and-forth to Piedmont Hospital for answers. So the heart doctors decided to put them on meds step one if that didn’t work pacemaker step two and now getting ready for step three to go in and clip the mitral valve so the blood can flow. Right now he’s at 20% pressure of the valve and you’re supposed to be 50 to 60%. So keep him in your prayers and if you want to email him or text him verses are encouraging words, here’s his email address and phone number: Carl med@cox.net phone number 478-217-1207 and again praying for all I love you guys
